Daniel and Cam arrived at the airport a little over a half an hour later looking for Joe.
“There he is,” Cam pointed. “Joe.”
Joe turned and smiled at them. “Hey guys.”
Cam pulled the young man into a hug ruffling his hair. “You need a haircut,” Cam said before letting go.
Joe rolled his eyes and accepted a hug from Daniel. He stepped back and looked over his shoulder.
Daniel and Cam looked surprised at the young woman standing a couple feet behind Joe a jacket clutched in her hands. She had long light brown hair and wore jeans and a white and blue blouse.
They watched as Joe put his hand out behind him and the girl took hold of it stepping up next to him. She looked nervous biting her lower lip.
“Cam, Daniel, I’d like you to meet Sharon, my fiancée.”

Daniel entered his and Cam’s bedroom with his lover following. “You’ve been pretty quiet since we got home,” Daniel said once the door was shut.
It had been a strained afternoon for everyone. Daniel did the bulk of the conversation trying to make things as comfortable for Sharon as possible.
The young woman told them she was studying to be an architect. Joe was studying mechanical engineering. Over the years Joey had taken apart many things in the house. Unfortunately he wasn’t always successful in putting them back together again.
“Aren’t you the least bit concerned about this sudden engagement?” Cam asked. “My mother may not have had a problem with Vala and me sleeping together under her roof, but I don’t like the idea of them sleeping together under our roof,” he pointed toward the direction of Joe’s bedroom.
“Wait, you slept with Vala?” Daniel asked face scrunching in confusion not to mention annoyance.
“What?” Cam looked equally confused for a moment before shaking his head. “No, I didn’t sleep with Vala. And would you please stick with the subject at hand.”
Daniel opened his mouth to protest when there was a light knock on their bedroom door. Cam turned opened the door. Joe was standing outside the door. The teen’s face spoke volumes of anger towards his guardians.
Cam stepped back to allow the young man’s entrance. “Joe, we need to talk.”
“How is Sharon?” Daniel asked.
Joe glared at Cam and turned a strained smile on Daniel. “She’s okay. She’s getting ready for bed,” he turned the glare back on towards Cam, “and sleeping in the guest room.”
“Joe, you’re too young to marry,” Cam said.
Daniel turned his own glare on Cameron before stepping closer to Joe. “Joe, Sharon is a lovely young woman, but you’re both pretty young. What do her parents say?”
“They’re supporting us,” Joe said.
“Great,” Cam said sarcastically.
Daniel’s gaze drilled into Cam before looking back at Joe. “Joe, you know we’re always here for you no matter what.”
“Yeah, whatever,” Joe started for the door. “We’ll find a hotel in the morning or something before going back to school in a couple of days. I’d like to at least spend some time with my sister,” with that he stomped out of the room rattling the walls as he shut the door causing some of the pictures on the wall to tilt.
“Well, you really handled things quite well,” Daniel said to his lover before entering the bathroom and slamming the door shut making the walls rattle once again.
This time one of the pictures fell to the floor. Luckily the floor had a thick carpet making for a soft landing and the picture frame didn’t break. Cam picked up the picture and looked at it. It was a picture of the four of them the day they had all moved into the house almost eight years earlier.
