Kitty saga
So the kitty saga continues. The three kittens stuck in my mom's room at my house have to stay there for another two or three weeks. We thought we could test their mother for feline leukemia and if she didn't have it the kittens would be fine. But there was some kind of quarantine problem before I got the kitties in my house.
I'm not sure of the details, but either the kittens were exposed to another unknown cat before coming to my house or the mother had been exposed to an unknown cat before having the kittens. This would render a test on the mother inconclusive for the kittens. So now the kittens have to be tested twice each and it's a month between the two tests. They were tested about a week ago I think so it will be two or three weeks before they're tested again. The first test came out good so it looks good.
Added to this, my mother and her friend brought over two more cats. So I had five kittens in my mother's room for two days. Luckily there were a couple of people who were taking the two new kittens so it didn't last long. They took them yesterday. Things have quieted down considerably.
My older cats are very unhappy, although they've managed to calm down since the initial arrival of the kittens. They want in my mom's room because other than cats like to be able to go everywhere ;) they like her room the best.
Here's a more recent pic. of the three kitties. My mom is trying to choose between two of them so it will be her cat. I have a feeling she's going to take both though. The third will go to my mom's friend.
