I'm not surprised some people reacted the way they did. It's a lot like the attitude I've seen in individual character threads. There are fans that have a perception of their favorite characters and when the show doesn't fit into their perceptions they're not happy.

I think there are still a few who have while they have stated, in other areas of GW, they don't plan on watching s4 have made an effort to have good conversations. Sure they've rehashed old episodes, but I've gotten some good insight from new people I hadn't had before.

And I know there are those who want the wedding, 2.5 kids and a dog, but then there always has been those types. As long as my view is respected that I am happy to imagine what I want in fanfic I'm cool with that. And I was respected for that view today.

I think what it comes down to for me is, do I want to participate in conversation about the ship with others? If I do I have to make an effort to nudge things in the right direction for me. If I don't want to participate I should't gripe. And that's really what I have realized for me about yesterday. It's like the people who said they weren't going to watch s4 and then turned around andwatched the first two episodes. Yesterday I said I needed to cut back on GW and then I go on and participate. People shouldn't say such absolutes, but we do.

PHeww, that was a long response. HOpe that made sense. :D
