Elphie is such a sad character. So far I've read about her very depressing childhood. SHe's in college now where I'm reading and she's treated just terribly.

To Kill a Mockingbird is such a great story. The characters are so rich and interesting. When I was in Middle School I was in a class where we were in two groups. Each group had a book to read and then we were to switch the book between groups eventually. Mockingbird was read in the other group I wasn't in and the semester ran out before my group could read it. I read it that following summer after my mom gave me a copy of it for my birthday. I still have the same copy fifteen years later. It's the only novel I've ever read more than once.
