Sateda

I've only seen Sateda twice and I don't have the tape because I gave it to my mom to watch.

I've been waiting to see more of Ronon since the beginning of s2. When he was first introduced I was immediately impressed and liked the character. For the first few eps. he would surprise me with a glimpse of something different.

Finally we can put to rest the idea that Ronon only uses grunting as a form of communication. And I've never understood this obsession fans have comparing characters' intelligence.

I'll go with the idea the woman in his flashbacks was his wife. (Can't recall her name) It's interesting when I first watched the ep. I never really paid attention to her exactly. My focus was on Ronon and his reactions to what was going in the flashbacks. His reaction to the death of his wife. I did't think of what I felt about her death itself. More what the impact of her death had been on him. Seeing her hit with that blast my first reaction was how horrible for Ronon that must have been.

This episode had some great character moments. Rodney, how I love you. An arrow to ass. Drugged Rodney just slays me. And later a great scene with him and Shep. "That must be a real pain the ass." "How long did it take you to come up with that?" "Longer than I care to admit."

Caldwell, I'm not sure what to think of this character. So often he's the antagonist for the sake having an antagonist. He objects and we're suppose to stick our tongues out at him because he disagreed with our heroes. At least Shep came up with a compromise. Still Sheppard's attitude was rather annoyed he had to come up with something else.

Beckett went with them willingly. Yay.

The scene between John and Teyla was really nice. Maybe JF and RL would seem to have more chemistry if their scenes weren't so forced. And this scene definitely didn't feel forced. Awkward, but it was suppose to be. So I guess John and Teyla really are friends afterall. :p

Hehe, Ronon threatens to kill Sheppard if Sheppard kills the wraith.

Beckett killed the Wraith. Love it when the most unlikely person comes to the rescue. Awww, Ronon hugged Carson.

11, 12. Pets John. And finally because I can't hold it in any longer LEATHER! :D

What does kiwi bowers mean?

What scene?, the one where they're both on the floor?, they looked like kids sitting there.

Yep, that's the one.

I've always liked Skinner myself. I don't know. Sometimes I think tptb want Caldwell to be perceived as the "enemy" so to speak, but it doesn't do our heroes many favors how they sometimes respond to him. Yes, I think he's been an ass a few times, but mostly just a bad attempt to create conflict.

I meant Kiwi boxers *lol*, it's just the thingies on Rodney's boxers look a lot like kiwies.

Lol. They looked like smiley faces to me. :)

I'd like to chat about Rodney sometimes at GW's Rodney discussion and appreciation thread, but I find my perception of the character is quite different than those who post on it regularly. There's nothing wrong with what they're saying per se, but it's just a little too obsessed for my taste. Fact is most of the individual character discussion threads are like that.

I am hopeful that Caldwell is more than a one note character. And I think he has some good moments where he's reasonable. I thought they did a good job of introducing him. He stood back a bit and let the Atlantis crew take charge instead of bullying his way in like Everett did. I just find the conflict rather contrived at times.
