I've been renting Highlander The Series lately. The DVDs have two options for commentaries. One is the usual where you hear them doing the commentary as you're watching the episode and the other is the people doing the commentary are filmed and we see them as they're doing the commentary. With the latter it's the same commentary as the former, but edited together and they only show the occassional moment of the ep. if someone is pointing to something in particular. The filmed version is also much shorter because they cut out those moments when there wasn't anything said so it is usually only fifteen to twenty minutes long.

I think more shows should do their commentary this way. We could match a name with a face with those that we don't see in the show and it would be kind of amusing to see them doing their commentary.

That would definately be interesting...

The one odd thing about how Highlander has done the video commentaries is they'll have two people doing the commentaries, but separately. They'll go back and forth between the two people so we don't see their interaction with each other. I've only seen two where the commentary was done by two people together for it. I'd rather the two do the commentary together.

Just thinking back of old commentaries in SGA I think it would have been fun to see them when they were doing the commentaries in s1-2. I wasn't too happy with s3 commentary because there were no actors doing it. And of course I couldn't care less about any new commentary for it now. ;)
