Elizabeth Weir

I think one of the reasons I've started writing Sheppard/Mckay slash is because it's the only way I'll get Elizabeth portrayed the way I see her.

For all the whining and complaining about her on GW, I find it infinitly more tiresome the way Elizabeth gets depicted in fanfic.

It's a common thing I have found in fandoms in general. A female character is often portrayed as desperate and pining for the guy or a cold byotch. The cold byotch isn't something I've seen too much with Weir...yet. ;)

And I agree while introspective fic isn't my cup of tea it would be nice to see some from Sheppard's pov.

Although I'm surprised how easy it has been writing Weir for me. While I don't delve into her proffessional side like [livejournal.com profile] melyanna does, I'm finding it quite easy with the interpersonal things with her. And more emotional sides. Getting into Sheppard's head is rather challenging. :D

I got out of SG-1 fandom completely because while Sam Carter is not my favorite character, I hated the way she was being portrayed as the cold byotch or desperate and pining in fanfic and J/S ship doesn't do it for me.

I will try to avoid both stereotypes in future!

I don't think you have anything to worry about. :) I've enjoyed all your Atlantis fanfic.

Yeah, slash is really the culprit from what I've with turning the female characters into byotches.
