Title: Learning to Drive

Summary: Joey returns from his driver’s license test

Daniel stepped out onto the front porch and watched as sixteen year old Joey-Joe came out of the passenger side of the car in the driveway and slammed the door. Cameron came out of the driver’s side at a slower pace.
Daniel opened his mouth to speak as Joe stomped past him. “Not good?” Daniel asked Cameron when he finally came up to the steps.
“Nope,” Cam sighed. “The Stewart genes strike again,” he said.
“Um, what?” Daniel followed Cam inside the house.
“My mother’s side of the family,” Cam explained.
“I see,” although Daniel didn’t really.
“It skips around,” Cam said walking through the living room into the kitchen.
“Uh huh,” Daniel shook his head at his lover’s melodramatics.
“My mom’s a great driver,” Cam opened the refrigerator and pulled out some items. “My aunt Cheryl-Kelly’s mom-failed her driver’s test five times and she still was a bad driver.”
“Ah,” now Daniel could see where Cam was going with his tirade. This was Joe’s third time taking the driver’s license test. The written part was never a problem, but once he got behind the wheel he froze up. At least he hadn’t done any damage in during his tests-at least Daniel didn’t think he had.
“I really hoped it would skip a generation for once,” Cam said morosely taking a knife to the carrots with a hard wack.
“He didn’t back into the instructor’s car, did he?” Daniel had to bite his bottom lip to keep from laughing.
Cameron turned and glared at him.
“Tracy!”
They heard Joe yell at his little sister and dropped what they were doing to rush to the hall. When Daniel came around the corner he couldn’t hold it in any longer. He pressed his back against the wall letting out a loud guffaw.
“Great, neither one of them is going to pass their driver’s test,” Cam lamented.
“Would someone please help me here,” Joe looked up from his prone position on the floor as six year old Tracy sat in her toy car which had run into Joe tangling his leg under the toy.
“It’s the Stewart curse all over again,” Cameron mumbled helping Joe up.
Daniel continued to snicker as he picked Tracy up out of her little car. “You know, you shouldn’t be driving this in the house,” he told her, but she just smiled up at him when his amusement failed to communicate his disapproval.

Tracy in her little car is so cute. And Joey - I mean Joe - actually got them to call him Joe, did they ;D

I was about to write that Tracy was at a friend's house when I remembered those toy cars many of us had as kids. :D
