Plugged Ear

I've had one of my ears plugged with wax and went to my doctor's office to get it cleared out. The Nurse practitioner got the wax out but she said there is some fluid behind my ear drum.

Of course my ear did clear a few days before my appointment but the wax was still there. So Now that she messed with it it's plugged again. So she has suggested taking antihistamines for a few days and some medicated nose spray. Man I hope this clears it up.

Good luck with that. It so annoying to have one ear plugged. It throws off balance and just makes life ergh!!!

I had an ear infection years ago that was so bad that my ear was swollen shut for about a month. It happened to be the ear that I didn't sleep on so when I would try to sleep, it was the one off the pillow and I couldn't hear anything at all. I didn't sleep well until if fixed itself.

I don't sleep on this ear either. But I tried to last night ( thought gravity might help) but I couldn't stay in that position for long before my side bothered me. It doesn't feel very plugged but if I put my hand over my clear ear it's hard to hear. The biggest annoyance has been hearing a sound and thinking it's coming from one direction when it's the opposite. Or I suddenly hear a sound but can't figure out what it is.

You should have seen me when my ear cleared up!! I was driving to work and could suddenly hear the radio out of that ear. I was leaning over as far as I could to get near the speaker and trying to block my other ear to be sure I could really hear. Good thing I didn't crash!!

What time for that to happen. :-D

right now it's popping and closing up, but it's not as plugged as it has been at least.

Hopefully it will clear up soon!

Mine was actually a bad ear infection that closed at the end of an INXS concert. It completely closed as we closed the car door after leaving the concert. Funny that closing and opening were both music related.
