Cable

Well, my cable company is no longer carrying the Fox network. Oh well, ever since Fox cancelled Firefly I've hated the network.

In the fifteen to twenty years the network has been around I've only really liked three shows and two were cancelled long before their time. Dark Angel was cancelled after only two seasons (although I must admitt I wasn't as pleased with its second season) only to be replaced by Firefly which lasted less than a season. I didn't watch Firefly at first because I was so pissed about DA's cancellation, but I decided to give it a try and it really started to grow on me before it was cancelled. X-Files was its best show and it started back when Fox would give shows a chance. Although I think they should have ended X-Files a little sooner, but they were no doubt trying to eek out every little last drop of that show for ratings.

On something that I'm so annoyed about; last weekend I was flipping through the channels and came across Thoughtcrimes, a pilot that had Joe Flanigan, but wasn't picked up. Unfortunately when I found it, it was already an hour into it. Man I wish they'd put it on DVD.

Not carrying Fox? Really? That's a big network to drop!

Yeah, apparently the company that owns the network wanted a lot more money from the cable company. The negotiations have been going on for awhile now and last night was the deadline. Now the cable company is giving out antennaes so anyone who has the cable company can receive the network.

It reminds me of when Fox first came on the air. My family didn't have cable yet so we had to get an extra antenna that was round. The network wasn't always easy to receive and we couldn't record the channel on a VCR. Once we got cable we could record the channel and it was far more reliable.

I'm really surprised considering all the sports the network carries.

Ouch. That's a suicidal move if I ever saw one!
