I Gave My Dad the Finger Yesterday

sg_lab2I couldn't resist the title of this post. :D I caught my finger in a kitchen drawer yesterday and when I saw my dad he asked me which one I hurt. It was my middle finger so I pointed it up to show him. And it still hurts like hell.
I liked last night's ep. of Stargate SG-1. I see Daniel is wearing his new glasses. I think he was wearing the last week, but didn't really notice them. It's about time too. I've hated those frames he's worn for nearly the past ten years.
I liked that scene on the Ori ship with Daniel and Vala when he talked about Shar'e.
Isn't Langara (sp?) Jonas Quinn's planet? And it took me a little while to realize Hybredon (sp?) was the planet from the ep. Space Race.
Always great to see Bra'tac. Man they better never kill him.
Stargate Atlantis' Common Ground was a great ep. John was great. I don't really need backstory per se. You can still get something interesting from a character without learning a grocery list of facts about the person. It was great to see how he had such faith in his friends.
JF really shines when he has the opportunity to have meaty scenes between himself and another person. He doesn't get that chance very often in a show like this. I've read that he really likes those kinds of scenes. I think that's part of what makes his scenes with Torri so good. Because a lot of the times they are like that. A long scene between the two of them where they're going back and forth with dialogue. Combined with the fact Torri does a lot of theater makes those scenes between those two really pop.
In the last seven minutes I was thinking there's no way they would have a reunion scene on Atlantis. I was a little disappointed until I saw how it ended. I think it really needed to end with John and the Wraith.
Much as I love the John/Elizabeth interaction the characters need to sometimes have their individual stories apart from each other. That's what made Babylon 5 so great with its main ship pair. John and Delenn were often apart in whole episodes on different planets. They needed to do their own thing to keep their individuality. And it made their moments together all the more sweeter.
