Rain, sleet, hail, thunder snow and a blizzard. That was the weather in my neck of the woods today. Good thing I didn't have to go anywhere.

We're under a blizzard warning through tonight and tomorrow. And They're reporting six to twelve inches of snow by morning.

It had been snowing for a couple of hours when I suddenly heard a strange noise. I could swear it sounded like thunder. I told my dad what I thought I heard and thought it was strange too. About an hour later and I heard it again much clearer. Sure enough it was thunder. They were reporting snow thunder on tonight's news. I never thought of it thundering and lightning during a snow storm.

Heat Wave

I lost my electricity this time this morning. Thankfully it only lasted about an hour an a half to two hours.

I cannot wait until network shows come to their season finales. I'm sick of being interrupted at the last minute of a show by local weather reports. Thankfully all my summer shows are on cable where they don't interrupt the show for a weather report to tell me something I already know because they've been scrolling the info across the bottom of my screen for the last 28 and a half minutes.

Hot!

We got a heat index of 111 F right now and it's suppose to get worse by the middle of the week. Thank God for central air even if it's constant running is getting annoying.

Whoa

OMG! A few minutes ago a thunder clap was so loud and close one of the cat stands was knocked over.

Most of this week I've had the air conditioner on. Today I thought I was going to have to turn the heat back on. I'm almost certain I'll be turning the heat on tomorrow. We've had highs from the 80s and 90s one day to 60s and 50s the next day.

Figures, this week there are new episodes of shows I watch and we have tornado watches/warnings and severe thunderstorm watches/warnings so my local news interrupts my show.

Third night in a row for a thunderstorm. This is just too much rain. It's not affecting me directly, my house is fine, but there are areas nearby that are being affected. Thankfully no electricity interruptions so far tonight nor was there any last night. So a little better sleep was had last night than the previous night. Thunder isn't so obnoxious either thankfully.

A thunderstorm is keeping me awake. Lost electricity twice and each time it came back on my bedroom light came on. Oh and did I mention it's 2 in the morning?

Well, this has been a gloomy 4th of July. It's been raining on and off through most of the day. I'm not sure there's going to be fireworks tonight. I think the ones I see usually start in about three hours. It hasn't cleared up though. And really we don't need the rain.

Finally

I have air conditioning at last. After at least three weeks with an air conditioner that wasn't working it has finally been fixed. Although to be fair temps haven't been all that bad yet and I do have ceiling fans. Besides, it takes a little more for me to get warm than the average person so I tend not to need the air conditioner as much.

Oooh, it's thundering and lightning out. I just hope my tv shows don't get interrupted by the "weather reports of obvious". That sounded stupid I know, but they always cut in right near the end of my shows telling me something I already know. I mean they put a map of the area at the corner of the screen pointing at the different types of weather from storm to tornoado watches and then scroll across the bottom of the screen saying what counties have what types of storms. Like they really need to cut into my show and have the local weather people tell me what's going on. Grr.

[livejournal.com profile] mizz_magenta remember earlier this TV season you asked me something about Catherine on CSI, well I think what you were looking for happened in last night's episode.

Detailed spoilers under the cut.

It's the last day of winter and it wasn't so long ago we finally got rid of all the snow that's stuck around since early December, now we're getting more. They predicted two to four inches.

On some good news, I was asked to crochet two dozen dishcloths. :-)

Hard to believe but the snow is almost gone. Now we have flash flooding. Actually that's not a problem in my neighborhood but it's close enough that if you're driving you might come across it.

The warm weather has brought out the lady bugs. I have a few in my house right now. It happened another winter where it warmed up suddenly and then got cold again I think, and suddenly we were inundated by lady bugs. It's not nearly like it was that winter though.

OMG, I can see patches of grass amongst all the snow.

Also I can tell it's been warmer the last couple of days; I kept getting startled by the sounds of kids in the neighborhood shouting and playing.
sg_lab2: (Storm2)
This time it's an ice storm today. Lots of schools and businesses closed today.

On another note White Collar is back. I watched it last night with my dad. A current show we can both enjoy. Things are getting interesting.

Watched Human Target Sunday night. I'm not sure about this show. My attention kind of wandered during the episode and some of the action sequences went on too long. minor spoilers for the pilot )

It's been snowing all day so far. And we may have a blizzard later on.

Happy belated Birthday :)
