The Return

My thoughts on Atlantis ep. 3.10 The Return.
Lots of great character moments in this one. I loved how it was really quite evenly spread out among all of them. Although my only little gripe would be that Rodney was with his team. I get the Shep, Ronon, Teyla moment as they're soldiers/warriors. And also the Mckay, Zelenka, Beckett moment as they are the scientists. But Sheppard, Teyla and Ronon are Mckay's teammates. And when Mckay was with Zelenka and Beckett I could see those two sides to him; the scientist and the teammate/adventurer or something like that as he's not a soldier/warrior. The things he said let us know how much he'll miss the missions going offworld.
The scene between John and Elizabeth in her quarters, it hadn't even occurred to me that it was her quarters until I read it mentioned somewhere on GW or LJ.
I think I got the most goofy grin over the phone conversation between John and Rodney. Their relationship often gets compared to Jack and Daniel's, but it's really only comparable on the most superficial level. Yes they're both what I would call the "Odd Couple" buddy friendship I've often seen in shows like this. The thing about John and Rodney is I can actually see these two hanging out together while I've never really been able to see that with Jack and Daniel even though I have no doubt the latter love each other given all they've been through for some ten years.
It occurred to me though while they were on Earth it wouldn't be easy for them to hang out together since they live in separate states. Hell of a lot easier than living in separate galaxies though. They can at least talk on the phone and fly when time allows.
And I just loved the restaurant scene. ITA with everyone who said that was one HOT looking group.
I loved it when they defied orders. It reminded me of SG-1 in a general sense. I didn't think of one particular ep. it reminded me of though. I used to be glad they didn't pull these things on Atlantis, but I loved it in this ep. I think it was because Elizabeth was a participant in the of defying orders. I'd probably pitch a fit if it was done to her though. ;D
And now I'm so sad because of those three words across the screen. TO BE CONTINUED.
On another note I'll finally get to see Siege III again. I came so close to missing it. A half hour before it was to begin I remembered it is suppose to be on this weekend, but I had to find out when in my area. PHEW, it was close. Although I wasn't really sure if it was the right ep because they're showing sg-1's It's Good To Be King instead of Avalon which is what is suppose to be on according to my digital cable on screen info.
