Daniel leaned against the headboard of his and Cam’s bed brooding. He knew he was smothering his lover. He just couldn’t help himself. He would watch Cam take off his shirt before going to bed and instead of lascivious that’s he would wince at how thin and frail Cam looked. Most nights he spent awake just watching Cam sleep.
Tomorrow their friends would be arriving and he didn’t want there to be tension between Cam and himself. Getting off the bed he went to find Cam so they could talk. “Cam,” he went through the living room and didn’t see him. Reaching the sliding glass door to the deck, he looked out. He wasn’t on the deck, but then Daniel could see what looked like his lover several yards away on the beach.
Going outside he looked closer. His heart pounded in his chest, Cam was lying down in the sand. Taking off at a run he came up to Cam and yelled his name. Coming up next to him he fell to his knees and pressed a hand to Cam’s chest.
Cam opened his eyes startled. At Cam’s reaction Daniel pulled the other man up without a word practically dragging him back to the house.
“Daniel,” Cameron griped as he was pushed inside and backed up against the dinner table.
Daniel pushed Cameron up onto the table and stood between Cam’s spread legs. Wrapping his hands on the sides of Cam’s face he leaned in kissing the other man. The kiss was harsh as teeth collided. Daniel bit down on Cameron’s lower lip just enough for it to sting without breaking skin.

Cameron took the chair next to Daniel. “So, now what?” Cam asked.
“Promise to stick around for the next forty or fifty years?” Daniel asked.
“Are you proposing to me?” Cam smirked.
“You want to get married?” Daniel asked looking serious.
“Well, I hear Iowa has made it legal for same sex marriages.”
“So now you want to move to Iowa?” A smile was developing on Daniel’s face.
“Not really,” Cam stood up on unsteady legs using Daniel’s shoulders as support and sat down in Daniel’s lap sideways. Tipping his head down, he kissed Daniel. When they parted Cam rested his head on Daniel’s shoulder and Daniel’s arms came up wrapping around Cam.
“Tired?” Daniel asked.
“Mhmm,” Cam mumbled relaxing more against Daniel.
“You want to get up then?” Daniel asked and Cameron made a noise that sounded like a negative. “You want me to carry you then?”
That got Cameron’s attention. His head snapped up and he started pushing himself off of Daniel’s lap.
Daniel stood behind Cameron not sure what to do with his hands.
“Daniel, a little help here,” Cam was holding onto the chair so tight his knuckles were turning white.
Daniel wrapped an arm around Cam’s waist and Cam relaxed against him. “All right, obviously I need to work on asking for help,” Cam admitted.
“Come on,” Daniel held on as they walked a slow, steady pace towards the bedroom. “Obviously I’m not feeding you enough.”
They made it to the bedroom and Cam crawled under the covers. He held out his hand and Daniel took it crawling in bed next to Cam.

Daniel woke up a couple hours later. He looked at the clock and saw it was four. Turning back he settled against the pillow. His hand wandered over across the bed and onto Cameron’s chest. He spent a moment just feeling his lover’s heartbeat and breathing.
He moved his hand away when he saw Cameron’s eyes open. Cam turned over on his side facing Daniel. He leaned over and kissed Daniel while one of his hands wandered down to Daniel’s pants opening them up.
