Summary: Daniel takes Cam to Florida for the vacation he had promised
A/N: A sequel to A Vow To Keep which should be read before this one

Daniel led an exhausted Cameron into their apartment and into his favorite chair. Cameron pulled his knees up to his chin curling up in his recliner. His cheek nuzzled the side of the chair and he sighed in contentment.
“I see how it is,” Daniel said. “You were tired of spending all your time with me and wanted some quality time with your chair.”
Cameron just grinned up at Daniel.
Daniel’s cell phone rang then. “Yeah, we just got in,” Daniel said into the phone. “Tired. It’s getting better though. All right, we’ll see you then,” he turned off his phone and looked up at Cam. “That was Lam, she wants to see you Monday morning.”
“Great,” Cam huffed.

Daniel followed Cameron into the SGC’s infirmary. It was slow going not only for the fact that Cam tired easily but for all the people who greeted him not having seen him in a long time.
“Daniel,” Sam’s voice came from behind them. “I hate to do this to you now, but I could really use your help.”
“Go,” Cam nodded.
“Are you sure?” Daniel asked.
“I’ll be fine,” Cam made shooing motions with his hands. “It’ll probably be better you won’t be around to harass the doctor.”
“All right,” Daniel’s hand was hung to his side next to Cameron’s. Their fingers briefly touched as Daniel began to turn. He had to remind himself all morning they were in the SGC and public displays of affection would be a bad idea.

Daniel followed Sam into her lab. “So what do you need help with?”
“Another team found this device and it has some writings on it I need translated,” she pushed it in front of Daniel. “So, how’s Cam doing today?”
“He got some good rest this weekend,” Daniel said. “I think he’s happier we’re home. Which is different from just before we left for Florida.”
“How so?” She asked.
“He didn’t seem very comfortable at home before we left. That’s why we went away,” he said.
“It probably just reminded him of his time being so sick,” she said. “He just needed some separation for awhile.”
“Yeah,” Daniel said. “He’s been afraid he’ll never get back to where he once was.”
Sam gave Daniel’s shoulder a light squeeze. “You know Thanks Giving is coming up, do you two have any plans?”
“I know his parents would like us to come to Kansas for it, but I don’t think Cam’s up for another trip,” Daniel said. “You?”
“Jack and I were thinking of hosting Thanksgiving inviting the team,” she said.
“I think Cam would like that,” Daniel smiled turning back to his translations.
He worked for awhile before checking his watch. “Oh, I’ve been here for over an hour.”
“I’m sure he’s fine,” Sam said. “He might be with Teal’c now.”
“All right, I need to get some reference materials if I’m going to translate this,” he pointed to the object in question.
“No hurry,” Sam said.
Daniel raised an eyebrow at her. “Clever,” he said.
“What?” She asked.
“Nothing,” he gave her an innocent look. It was similar to the one she was wearing. “I’ll see you later then.”

Daniel had gone to the infirmary only to be told that Teal’c had in fact shown up and retrieved Cameron. He was now headed down the hall towards Teal’c’s quarters. He knocked once before entering. Candles were lit around the room making it the only light source. Cameron was sitting on the foot of Teal’c’s bed while Teal’c sat on the floor nearby.
“Hey,” Cameron looked up and smiled at Daniel.
“Still trying to master Kel’no’reem?” Daniel asked sitting on the edge of the bed.
“Colonel Mitchell no longer falls asleep during the meditation,” Teal’c said.
“I’m impressed,” Daniel grinned resting a hand on Cam’s back.
“Yeah well, don’t get too excited,” Cam said. “We’ve only been at it for a couple of minutes. The walk here was longer than I remembered it.”
“You walked all the way here?” Daniel asked.
“Yeah,” Cam said.
“Ready to go home?” Daniel asked.
“Yeah,” Cam blinked a few times and leaned back into Daniel.
“Or you could take a nap before we go,” Daniel suggested.
“Yeah,” Cam’s voice was drifting now and his eyes were closed.
Daniel felt Cam become heavier against him. “Do you mind if he takes a nap in here, Teal’c?”
“Not at all, Daniel Jackson,” Teal’c said.
Daniel put Cam down on the bed and put a blanket over him. “Sam asked me to translate something for her. I’ll get some reference materials and bring them back here,” Daniel said to Teal’c.

Daniel didn’t get Cam home until dinner time. They picked up something on their way home and decided to eat in bed. They talked about various things that weren’t all that important. Daniel then told Cam of Sam’s invitation to Thanksgiving and he readily accepted the invite.
“So, what did Lam say?” Daniel asked leaning back against the head board of their bed. Cameron lay on his side with his head on Daniel’s chest. They were finishing the last of their French fries.
“Physically things are getting better,” Cam said.
“But?” Daniel asked.
“But,” Cam mimicked Daniel’s stretching out the word. “She still wants me to see a counselor.”
“That’s what I’ve been telling you,” Daniel said.
“She said you should go too,” Cam said.
“If that’s what you need,” Daniel agreed.
“No, I think she wants you to go by yourself,” Cam said looking up at Daniel.
“Me?” Daniel asked.
“Yep,” Cam said. “She also thinks we should go together at some point.”
“All right,” Daniel gave in. “I guess she’s right.”
“I’m going to start walking with Teal’c a few times a week and work up to something more challenging,” Cam said.
“Mind including me in those more challenging activities?” Daniel asked smirking.
“Wouldn’t have it any other way,” Cam reached up and kissed his lover.
“It sounds like you’re feeling better,” Daniel said after they parted.
“I just think there might be light at the end of this tunnel,” Cam said with a smile.
