Star Trek Voyager question

I'm hoping someone on flist watched ST: Voyager because I have a question that has annoyed me for years. But I can't be bothered to watch the whole series. :p

I watched the show up to halfway into the series about after s3 and then the network was yanked in my area. Having caught reruns here and there I have some blanks.
