Fox has done it again

The company that owns our Fox network affiliate is negotiating its contract with my cable company and they want more money from the cable company. But my cable company won't give them more money. So if things aren't settled soon my cable company will no longer be carrying the Fox network. This wouldn't be so bad for me but Fox carries a lot of sports and in January the Orange Bowl will be on Fox. Iowa's playing in the Orange Bowl this January so it's a big thing over here. This isn't the first time my cable company and Fox affilliate were in conflict over money either. It happened in 2007 too and we lost Fox for a short time.

The only way we would be able to get the channel if we lose it through our cable company is to get a digital converter box. Everything is digital now so rabbit ears wouldn't work anymore.

So come Jan 5th my dad may have to go to a sports bar unless he gets an invite to someone's house with satelite.
