A Bit of Advice
Nov. 17th, 2014 12:43 amA piece of advice if you come up to talk with a person in a wheelchair. If you're coming up to them for a brief greeting, do not kneel next to them or sit on the floor. Standing will do just fine. If you're going to have a longer conversation, pull up a chair and sit in it next to them.
Also, if you're not sure but think a person in a wheelchair needs help maneuvering their chair somewhere, do not grab the back of the chair and then ask them if they need help. Ask first.
Thank you.
