Have you been to GW's Ark discussion thread lately. It suddenly turned into a ship discussion and debate thread. And some shippers are irritating me because they seem to be speaking for all shippers. "Uh no I don't need my ship to be canon nor do I feel jerked around by tptb over ship and I'm quite happy with the character interactions with all the characters this season thank you very much."
I'm thinking of pasting what I wrote here about the ark on the ep. thread. And adding the fact as a shipper I am perfectly happy with where it is and have no interest in seeing it go anywhere else.
The thing is I look at SGA and as much as I love it it's not the highest caliber of show. There are far better written shows that can do ship better. It's a very broad bear bones kind of show that's great for fandom and fanfic. THe shows I watch that do ship well are ones I am not involved with in fandom or read fanfic because tptb for those shows write really tight well scripted shows. Sigh, I'm always feeling like pulling at my hair when it comes to fandom.
