Elizabeth sat down on the couch next to John and pressed a kiss to his lips. “How was your day?”
“Fine until Rodney came by an hour ago and freaked out on me,” John said.
“Why was Rodney freaking out?” Elizabeth eyed him.
“Katie told him she’s pregnant.”
“Is this good news?” She asked.
“I’m not sure,” he frowned. “He was doing a lot of rambling and pacing.”
“Let’s stop by their quarters tomorrow,” Elizabeth suggested.
“So how was your day?” John asked.
Elizabeth smiled. “I’ll tell you if you promise not to freak out the same way Rodney did.”
**
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” John asked.
“Yes,” Elizabeth sighed, leaning against John as they walked the length of the infirmary.
“How much longer do you think it will be?” He asked.
“John, quit asking stupid questions,” she grunted. “Bed. Now.”
“Where’s Dr. Keller?”
John looked up once he had Elizabeth settled hearing Rodney yelling for Dr. Keller. A frazzled looking Katie stood next to him.
“Rodney?”
“Katie. Labor,” Rodney was looking pale.
Dr. Keller waved them over.
“What are the chances of Rodney and Katie’s babies being born the same day as ours?”
“John, didn’t I tell you to shut up?” Elizabeth asked.
**
Elizabeth and Katie walked into Rodney’s lab to find their wayward husbands.
John was holding his and Elizabeth’s two week old daughter Madeleine and walking around the room pointing out what could only be toys for adult kids in the room.
Rodney had his and Katie’s twins, also two week old Peter and Abigail, set on a work table and was pointing out some rather complex equations on the computer and explaining it to them.
Getting their attention; they walked over to their husbands.
Katie kissed Rodney. Taking the babies, they walked out of the lab.
John kissed Elizabeth. “Have a nice nap?”
