Here are my random thoughts about last night's Atlantis ep.

Wow, they really packed a lot in this ep. I was beginning to wonder if this would be a two parter or the end would be very rushed. To my surprise it wasn't a two parter and even more surprising I really didn't find the ending rushed.

I have to say I think I would rather not know Rodney's first name is Meredith. I just thought it was weird. I have no trouble with names like Carroll or Tracy or even Ashly as a man's name, but it wasn't working for Mckay.

Kate Hewlett and David Hewlett are amazing on screen together. I really don't think either Stargate show has caused me to choke up the way the last scene between Rodney and Jeannie did. Not even sg-1's Meridian got to me like this.

John Sheppard is such a sweetie. I know Rodney doesn't know about it, but that was such sweet thing to show Rodney's video from LFP to Jeannie.

I don't think they ever gave us the sense that SG-1 did things together as a team when Jack was leading them. I mean I know they love each other, but I could never picture those four hanging out together. Of course SG-1 as they are now has been shown to do that, but I'm just not feeling the connection with them like Sheppard's team.

Back to M&MM. I think it's good that Rodney's eyes were opened to some things, but I don't want him to change too much. I think Rod's presence put a magnifying glass up to Rodney's less appealing qualities.

John teasing Teyla that she had the hots for a Marine, loved it. And then she kicks him. Go Teyla.

The issue with Carson Beckett. I knew there was no way Carson could be written into every episode. I would guess he's signed as a main character so they can get him whenever they want to. I don't know.

I watch a lot of shows with an ensamble cast and in any given ep. they'll alternate characters where some are in an ep. one week while others aren't and change around the next week. I think the way Atlantis and SG-1 are set up doesn't leave a lot of room for not having certain people in every ep. S2 Atlantis Ronon and Teyla were not in Grace Under Pressure. There was no explanation for their absence and while there wouldn't have been anything for them to do it doesn't really work without them unless there's a reason within the show for their absence. Carson doesn't really work that way. There doesn't really need to be a reason he's not in an ep. at least not from a story telling point of view.

I felt like Elizabeth was a little off in last night's ep. I don't know what it was, but her presence wasn't working for me. That's kind of what I was feeling from her in s2's Epiphany.

All and all a great ep. last night. I've enjoyed the SG-1 ep. this season, but whenever Atlantis comes on lately it's just totally beating SG-1 in quality for me.

I think it was perfect that instead of telling Jeannie "I love you" he said "how are you? Ya happy?" things like that. I was just rewatching it and didn't notice he repeated the same things she said earlier when she was telling him it would have been enough just for a Hi, how are you etc.

The are you happy question got to me most. I think because before he had been so critical of her choices and he seemed to think he knew what was best for her. Now he asked her if she was happy because he really wanted to know.

And Kate was wonderful in this episode. Jeannie was such a Strong and intelligent and caring person.
