Summary: Daniel has been dating Cameron for awhile, but he doesn’t realize it

Characters/Pairings: Daniel/Cameron, maybe a hint of Sam/Jack at some point

“Hey, Jackson,” Daniel looked up from the papers he was studying when he heard Mitchell’s voice. The Air Force officer was standing in Daniel’s office doorway. “Want to get something to eat?”
Daniel looked at his watch and realized it was five. Thinking about it he was hungry. And it would be a good excuse to get away from this work. “Uh sure, just give me a few minutes to…”
“Oh no you don’t,” Cameron came over taking the papers in Daniel’s hand and placing them down on his desk while grabbing Daniel’s arm and pulling. “Last time I asked you out to dinner you said ‘give me a few minutes’ and it was three hours later and I didn’t get to eat dinner until nine.”
“All right,” Daniel sighed. “Can I at least change my clothes?”
Cam took his hand off Daniel’s arm and stepped back. “Sure.”
“Thank you.”

They arrived at a bar and grill where SG-1 frequented. They found a booth and sat across from each other.
“So, tell me about yourself.”
Daniel was startled out of his thoughts about what to order when Mitchell spoke. “I’m sure you know everything there is to know,” Daniel finally said.
“All right, if you don’t want to share I’ll tell you about myself,” Cam said. “Have I ever told you about my cousin Kelly?”
Before he knew it Daniel was sharing a little of himself as well as listening to Cameron tell about his childhood growing up with Kelly.
There was lull in the conversation when they got their food. They chatted some more when they were finished eating. “Ready to go?” Cameron asked looking at his watch.
“Yeah,” Daniel agreed, but wasn’t really ready to go home. He couldn’t remember the last time he had had a good conversation with another person..
When they were finished and paid the bill they left and got into Cam’s Mustang. “Mind if we drive around for a bit?” Cam asked.
“No,” Daniel replied getting comfortable in his seat. The sun was just beginning to set.
By the time Cameron had dropped Daniel off at his apartment Daniel had forgotten about his long frustrating day where he had spent hours trying to come up with a good reason for SG-1 to go to a particular planet.

The next day Daniel and Sam were working together on a piece of technology another team had found. There was writing along its side which Daniel was doing his best to decipher while Sam was next to him trying to work out the device.
“So, how was your date last night?” Sam asked not taking her eyes off the device.
Daniel didn’t take his eyes off the device either as his brow furrowed. “Date?”
“Yeah, you and Mitchell.”
Daniel turned his head to Sam. “That was not a date,” Daniel replied.
“Okay,” Sam said going back to her work.
Daniel shook his head turning back to the device. For the next couple of minutes he was finding it hard to concentrate. He opened his mouth to say something, but couldn’t figure out what to say. Shaking his head once more he forced himself to focus.
