Battlestar Galactica

I have a question about Battlestar Galactica. I've only been watching it consistently since it came back this year from hiatus so I'm not familiar about all the details. In the first ep. when the show returned they were on Earth. Kara was walking along with the character played by Callum Keith Rennie following her. I know he was a cylon and I know some of what happened between him and Kara when they were on New Caprica. What ever happened to him after that episode with them on Earth?

My thoughts were that the Leoban that was holding her captive died, and this was a different Leoben, especially since he doesn't seem to be as weird...
