This has been such a hectic week. My dad moved in with me for financial reasons. So there was a lot of moving things in and out. A lot of it happened while I was watching Day 1 of Torchwood. Then last night I ate at a family friend's house for dinner so didn't watch Day 2 of Torchwood until later. The internet has been screwy and now I have to deal with feeding Abby different from what the other two cats are eating. I don't know how I'm going to keep them from eating Abby's food.
Wow, these first two episodes have been intense. I liked how it started with Gwen entering the Hub and and she goes to her computer where there is a picture of Owen and Tosh and she presses a kisses with her fingers to the picture.
The greater focus on Jack and Ianto's relationship is interesting. Pour Ianto's trying to figure out how Jack feels about the relationship without actually asking.
Then we learn Jack has a daughter and a grandson. I actually already knew this because the night before it premiered I was reading an article about Children of Earth in TV Guide. It revealed that particular detail. It also revealed there would be some naked Jack, but I'll get to that later.
The doctor surprised me I confess, I didn't expect him to shoot Jack.
I missed the first time watching where that man Clement in the psychiatric hospital told Gwen she was pregnant. I didn't hear much of their conversation in the first time really.
My mom and her friend were here while I was watching and they were busy doing stuff around the house. But I had a laugh when my Mom's friend stopped to see what I was watching (she's never seen Torchwood) and was watching where Gwen tells Jack she's pregnant and then when Jack pushes her and Ianto out of the Hub only to kiss Ianoto first. My mom's friend thought Jack was the father of Gwen's baby so was like 'what?' when he kissed Ianto. :D
But oh Ianto's face as he goes up the lift. :( And then that explosion that knocks Gwen over wow.
By the next episode Gwen is kicking some serious ass. :D At first Ianto doesn't seem to know what to do. I was so happy though when his brother-in-law told Ianto's sister they were the only family he had because at first I thought the brother-in-law was going to just be a real jerk.
The moments between Gwen and Rhys were just lovely. What a way to tell your husband your pregnant. :0
Then they find some parts of Jack's body apparently. Boy was I wondering how he was going to come back from that. And it was pretty gruesome. Oh and about those naked parts? Completely blurred out. :p
Then later how Gwen and Rhys break into that facility where they're holding Jack. They work well together I must say. Now I don't actually know how many bullets are in the gun Gwen was using but she seemed to be firing an awful lot more rounds than would be reasonable. Oh well, it wouldn't be the first show or movie to have their characters fire more rounds from a gun than is realistic without reloading.
I almost thought they had Gwen and Rhys but then Ianto shows up. I love how much he's gotten to do in this series.
And then we have a dusty Jack crawling out of the rubble and a blurred out ass. *shakes head*
Phew that was a ride and there's more to come. I'm so glad these episodes are being run in consecutive nights.

Date: 2009-07-22 07:58 pm (UTC)I thought the first episode was some of the best television ever. All that humour and then everything just goes to pieces so dramatically in the last couple of minutes.
