Title: Dancing Through the Night

A/N: A little ficlet in my Family Ties series. Complete and utter schmoop

As Cameron unlocked the front door he noticed the lights were still on in the house. He shook his head as his mouth opened on a large yawn and rubbed his eyes.

Stepping into the house he thought he heard soft music coming from the living room. With his shoes off he shuffled into the room where the sound emanated from.

He stopped at the entrance and leaned on the door frame for a moment grinning.

Daniel was standing in the middle of the living room with five year old Tracy standing with her little stocking feet on top of each Daniel’s shoeless feet. Daniel had each of Tracy’s hands in his as he moved her around a small space in the room dancing to the music.

“Cameron!” Tracy squealed in delight. Pulling away from Daniel the little girl rushed over to Cam grabbing his hand and tugging on his arm as she turned back towards Daniel. “Dance with us?”

Cameron laughed almost losing his balance as Tracy continued to pull on his arm. He followed her until he was standing in front of Daniel.

“Long day?” Daniel asked.

“Very,” Cameron pressed a quick kiss to Daniel’s lips.

“Here,” Tracy proceeded to put Daniel’s left hand in Cameron’s right. “Now take Cameron’s left hand,” she instructed.

“Yes Ma’am,” Daniel smiled.

Cameron watched as Tracy put her hands on top of his and Daniel’s hands with her feet still on Daniel’s. He followed Daniel’s lead as he danced them around the room.

Eventually they felt Tracy begin to sag until she her hands had dropped off theirs and she was leaning against Daniel completely. Daniel picked her and she rested in his arms like a rag doll.

“Don’t wanna go to bed,” she mumbled surprising them. “Wanna dance more.

“All right,” Cam said. “A few more minutes.” Stepping closer to Daniel, Cameron wrapped an arm around his lover’s waist while the other helped support Tracy.

Daniel held Tracy with one arm as his other wrapped around Cam’s shoulder. Staying in place they swayed to the music.

“I think she’s asleep,” Daniel whispered a minute later.

Cameron nodded and pressed his cheek to Daniel’s as he continued to move them to the music.
