It's been awhile since I've seen the Stargate SG-1 s7 episodes Heroes 1 & 2 but as far as I can recall there was nothing in the two part episodes that indicated it was Sam's fault that Janet was shot and killed. I don't understand how some people come to this conclusion.
This came from listening to Gateworld's most recent podcast talking about the women of Stargate and the person who said this about Sam said it as if it were fact.

Sam did leave her post to run to Jack when he went down - but it seems like a stretch to me to say that the Jaffa that killed Janet got through because Sam left her post. But then, I've only seen those episodes once several years ago - I haven't made an extensive study of them. :)

Generally I think it's just an excuse for Sam haters and Sam/Jack ship haters to bash Sam.
The person on the podcast who said this felt Sam was too perfect. And while I think there have been a few times she hasn't been called on the carpet for some things, I could say that about the whole team.

killing off Janet and forgetting her for a season and a halfbut it never occurred to me they were trying to show us Sam was at fault for Janet's death. In fact I'm certain they never intended that. The person on this podcast clearly didn't care much for Sam and thought she was too perfect.
