I had to have my cat Zoey taken to the vet today, I noticed she had recently lost a lot of weight. I realized she's hardly eating. They gave me some canned food and I have to feed her four times a day and my mom will be giving her a pill once a day for a while. I hope this works because her liver is at risk.

Anyone got any advice on giving a cat a pill?

On a happier note my mom gave me an Amazon gift card as payment on money she borrowed. I can't believe I did this but I bought a John Sheppard and Elizabeth Weir action dolls.

Oh hell, I hope she gets better.. I have two dogs and I know how you must be feeling.. my best wishes for her recovery.. *hugs*

Can't you put it inside something she loves to eat? (That's what my father did with my dog)

I'm hoping to coax her into eating this weekend. I was told at first it would be difficult but if she does eat some she'll start eating more and more. So for now the pill in food would be pointless unless I find something she really likes. Thanks *hugs*.

Hide the pill in food or a treat.
Have someone hold her and shove the pill down her throat. Hold her mouth closed and massage the throat to make her swallow. Give a treat after.

That's why for now you gotta just be the mean person and shove it down her throat. It sucks, but...just wear long sleeves. And even wrap her up in a towel or blanket for comfort when you do it.

Good luck with your girl. I hope she starts eating better soon. I had to give my cat canned food with a little water and salt mixed in so that his kidneys would flush properly. I don't think I ever had to give him a pill though. I hear cats are much harder than dogs to do that to.

*pets puppy next to her* He loves his pills for some reason.
