After Dr. Beckett declared Rodney back to normal, the scientist was released from the infirmary. Everyone gathered for a brief dinner before heading off to much needed rest.
“Could you use some help?”
Carson looked up from where he was tidying up the infirmary to see Radek standing in the doorway. He smiled at the scientist and pointed to where the other man could help.
“Care for a drink?” Carson asked when they were finished.
Radek followed the other man to his desk where Carson pulled out a bottle of scotch and a couple of glasses. The physician poured a generous amount in each glass before lifting his own glass up. Radek raised his and tapped it against Carson’s. “To Rodney,” Radek said.
Carson smiled. “To Rodney.”

In another part of Atlantis, Teyla and Ronon were just finished preparing for bed. Ronon stood by the bed watching Teyla looking at a tray with a tea set.
“Rodney came to me yesterday with the tea set,” Teyla said looking at Ronon watching her. “I hope you do not mind. I know you were planning to retrieve it from Halling next week.”
“No,” he smiled sitting on the edge of the bed next to her.
Teyla leaned forward resting a hand on his bare back stroking the now unblemished skin. He leaned forward meeting her halfway and wrapped his arms around her.

Elizabeth sat at her desk in her quarters fiddling with the data file Rodney had given her. She put it into her computer and shook her head. Her door opened then and Marc came rushing in. She found herself swept up in a tight hug.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t here,” he said.
“It couldn’t be helped,” she said wrapping her arms around him.
“So Rodney’s going to be okay?”
“Yeah,” she nodded.
“You’re not doing work now are you?” He asked looking at her computer.
“No,” she smiled. “It’s a book Rodney wrote,” at his look of confusion she continued. “He wrote a five hundred word book about me,” she was blushing now.
“Still has that crush on you,” he said.
“Marc,” she frowned. “He loves John.”
“I know,” he pulled her into a loose hug. “How are they?”
“Okay I think. I gave them a few days off. In fact I gave all of us a few days off.” She wrapped her arms around him. “I’m glad you’re back.”
“Me too,” he said.

John followed Rodney into the scientist’s quarters. Rodney reached to pull off his jacket when arms came around him trapping his arms. John’s face pressed against the side of Rodney’s head.
A few minutes later John let Rodney go and went into the bathroom. Rodney stood in the middle of the room for several seconds before getting ready for bed. He thought about waiting for John to come out of the bathroom, but shrugged his shoulders went ahead in.
John was just finishing when Rodney walked in. John didn’t say a word as he stepped out. Rodney finished up as fast as he could and stepped out to a dark room.
He sighed and made his way to the bed and crawled in next to John. “You know if all you were going to do was sleep, you could have done that in your quarters.” He winced at his own words. “I’m sorry. It’s not like I don’t want you here. It’s…”
“I don’t think I can sleep in that bed again,” John said.
“Oh,” it was all Rodney could think to say.
“Can we talk about this tomorrow?” John asked pulling Rodney so the scientist’s back was spooned up against John. John buried his face in the crook of Rodney’s neck and shoulders.
A few minutes later Rodney felt dampness on the shoulder of his t-shirt and fine tremors from the man wrapped around him. Rodney shifted so he was facing John and wrapped his arms around the other man resting John’s head against his shoulder.

Date: 2007-09-26 11:07 pm (UTC)I tend to stick to reading fics by people I know or have read stuff from before. If I read something new and it starts character bashing or is just really OOC then I just stop reading.
Really I don't tend to read McShep...I do like OT3 McShWeir. That way, there is no bashing of characters ;)
My slash of choice right now is McKay/Lorne, but last night I read some McKay/Lorne/Shep. And I actually read this fic because I was intrigued by you writing Lorne/Elizabeth.
So yeah, I'm just floating around in the shippy void at the moment ;)
And yeah, get msn :) It's fun.

Date: 2007-09-27 12:13 am (UTC)I'll check just about any slash pairing, but I find myself more picky about het pairings.
There was something about the interaction between Lorne and weir in Lost Boys/Hive I found interesting.
I'm on AIM, but I will think about getting msn.
