And now we find out Carter is going to be in the opening credits in s4. And the ptb said she would be a main character. One would logically conclude that because TH/EW will be a recurring character she will not appear in the opening credits. Some were getting pissy that others were stating that it is a FACT TH/EW will not be in the opening credits because of recurring status.
No, tptb have not explicitly said TH/EW will not be in the opening credits, but it's a reasonable assumption and I don't think the ones calling it a fact will lose sleep over calling it a fact even if it hasn't been explicitly stated as fact.
You would still be told you're jumping to conclusions because aparently Brad Wright I believe recently said reducing TH/EW to recurring was decided before the decision to bring in AT. So of course she's not replacing Weir. *snort*

It's like the new SG-1 commercials for the second half of season 10. They're edited to seem like RDA will be in many episodes when we know he'll only be in one.
The thing is I don't see anyone (at not least not at GW) bashing AT. The anger is directed at TPTB. It just happens to be about their decision regarding the character Samantha Carter.
There was one person who doesn't like AT's acting. That's as close to actor bashing as it got, but while I didn't agree I couldn't see that as anything other than a person's opinion on AT's professional skills.
Sam was never my favorite character, but I liked her. In recent years I've been irritated with how she's been written. Now I just don't care anymore. I'm rather indifferent to most of the characters on SG-1 these days really. I need a little time away from them. Then maybe I can deal with one of them on SGA. But that's a big maybe.
This type of thing is why I stopped posting at GW. I love all the enthusiasm, but when they get their dander up, Lavery help the poor sods who aren't up in arms along side the mob.
Am I pissed to hear this? Yes, abso-frakkin'-lutely. The problem is that AT has been contractually obligated to do this. My impression is that she really didn't want to, and was suprised about this. However, she's always been the good little soldie for the IIC, so I can totally see this going FUBAR.
I am furious about loosing Torri. I hope like hell she gets an amazing show and lets those masogynistic bastards rot. I will support her and Paul McGillion because they've been treated like crap by Pallozzi and Brad Wright. I do not forgive the destruction of Sam in S7 and I do not forgive the utter lack of character growth in S8 &S9.

SG-1 have had TEN blooming years and now they want to get rid of dearly loved SGA characters so that they can turn Atlantis into Stargate:SG-1...in a new location....the Pegasus galaxy!
For 9 years Sam was so my favourite character (for season 10 is has GOT to be Vala!!) but now I feel strange because she's replacing my favourite character on Atlantis (Elizabeth). Apparently Torri has a contract for 6 seasons....but knowing TPTB.....well....
