There is this fandom I read fanfic in. It's Magnificent seven. It's set in the old west. There's a female recurring character. She was a rather sheltered woman and she had an attitude towards prostitutes. She didn't understand how women could fall into that and sometimes they had no choice. But she had an eye opening experience and I think by the end of the episode she changed her attitude. But fandom wouldn't let it go. they continued to harp on it. And continued to portray her as a spoiled snob.
And of course she was a pathetic man chaser trying to get her evil claws into the leading man. ;)
That's apparently what happened to Sam too on sg-1. Poor Jack was being stalked by an obsessed woman who took credit for everyone elses work. ;-)
