After watching This Mortal Coil I was left with mixed emotions.
Things I liked:
-The scene with the duplicate team with Duplicate!Weir in the cell. It just highlighted how much she belongs with this group as well as Carson even though there was no Duplicate!Carson.
-The reveal scene while John and Rodney are watching the monitor. Great performance from Joe and David.
-The scene with John and Duplicate!Weir walking together.
-The scene between Radek and Rodney at the end and the next one with Rodney and John.
The fact that Carter wasn’t in the episode didn’t bother me. I’m surprised at how so many people are wondering where she is. To me she really is more like a Hammond or Landry type. If she is absent from an episode I don’t really see it necessary to explain.
Now in Miller’s Crossing, I thought Teyla should have at least been mentioned. For me if a member of Shep’s team is not on an episode or absent from a particular scene they need to be mentioned. The reason for their absence needs to be explained. I don’t find Carter’s absence needing an explanation. At least not as much as someone on Shep’s team.
Finally I’m left wanting to think repli!Keller was wrong about real Weir’s fate. I believed her at least to the extent that she believed what she was saying was true, but I’m just wondering. I mean they chose to have Elizabeth’s “death” off screen. That to me is at least tptb leaving the door opened if they want to do something later. But then who knows if they’ll want to. I’ve given up trying to guess what they’re trying to do. I’m not entirely sure I care and to be honest I think the entire cast deserve much better than this show.
And on that note…
I’ve started watching Women’s Murder Club. Mainly because I heard Joe Flanigan would be making some appearances. It turned out last night’s episode was his first episode. Although it was only for the very last minute.
But anyway his character’s name is John. :D I didn’t quite catch the last name. He was standing out on a porch at night so it was a bit dark. And while watching it I was reminded of some of his comments at the last con Joe F. was at. Specifically about his hair troubles while on Women’s Murder Club. When they did closer shots of him they kinda cut off the very top edge of his head. It may have been a coincidence but I was thinking they were probably trying to hide the hair sticking up. :D
