Spoilers: Sunday but things go AU after that. Irresponsible never happened. In fact neither did Irresistible. Set sometime after s3. Vague one also for Doppleganger
Summary: After Rodney suffers at the hands of an old enemy he and Evan must deal with the fallout
Chapter 4
The next day Evan and Rodney had dinner together. For the next week they had shared meals together or watched a movie.
By the end of the week Evan had to go off world. He would be gone for at least two days. The evening before he had to go, he spent it in his quarters with Rodney watching a movie.
Halfway through the movie, Evan was surprised by Rodney who initiated a kiss which turned into a heavy make out session.
Rodney let out a less than pleasant sounding noise as Evan leaned into him.
Evan pulled back. “Are you okay?”
“Shoulder still hurts a little,” Rodney said.
“Sorry. Maybe we should just continue with the movie.”
“Okay,” Rodney sighed and moved so his back was leaning against Evan’s front. His head rested on Evan’s shoulder. Evan’s arms came around Rodney’s waist.
“Comfy?” Evan looked down amused when Rodney just let out a contented sigh.

Evan woke up to a weight over his chest. He was part way sitting up. Pillows were holding him from behind. He opened his eyes noticing the sun was just coming up. He looked some more realizing Rodney was leaning against his chest.
He stayed still enjoying the moment until the man in his arms began to jerk. Rodney’s breathing started to speed up.
“Noo!” Rodney came awake sitting up pulling out of Evan’s arms.
“Rodney,” Evan’s voice was calm and gentle as he reached out placing a hand on the other man’s shoulder.
Rodney’s head jerked up and over toward Evan. “Evan?”
“Yeah,” Evan moved closer. “Bad dream?”
Rodney nodded. “I think it was a memory too. Kolya.”
Evan stiffened. Couldn’t Rodney’s first memory be pleasant, like the first time they made love?
“You’re remembering when Kolya held you captive?”
“No,” Rodney shook his head, “when he held Sheppard captive. The dream was about one of the times the wraith fed off Colonel Sheppard.”
Evan pulled Rodney toward him wrapping his arms around his lover. “I’ll see if I can get someone else to go off world in my place.”
“No,” Rodney shook his head.
“But…”
“You need to do your job,” Rodney turned in Evan’s arms enough so their lips could meet. The kiss was full of passion and want. Rodney managed to pull himself away before things went further. “Come on, you need breakfast before you leave.”
It was with great reluctance that Evan stepped through the gate an hour later.

Three days later, Evan and his team were back. Luck was on their side. It was a smooth trip and no injuries beyond a few blisters.
It was late when he was finished with his post mission physical and he was ready for sleep. He thought about checking on Rodney, but decided he didn’t want to disturb him if he was sleeping.
Entering his quarters he began stripping down to his underwear. He collapsed into his bed falling asleep almost as soon as his head hit the pillow.

He felt his shoulder being pushed and pulled. Evan raised a hand trying to shoo away whatever was harassing his sleep.
“Evan,” a smile curled the officer’s lips. Evan opened his eyes meeting Rodney’s.
“Hey,” Evan said.
“Evan, what are you doing in here?”
Evan’s eyes snapped open. He saw confusion in Rodney’s eyes. Looking around he noticed the different details compared to his room. The pictures on the nightstand while familiar were not his.
“I must have been sleepwalking,” Evan fell against the pillows behind him.
“Why are you sleepwalking?” Rodney asked. “I’m the one who’s supposed to be messed up in this relationship.”
“You remember something?” Evan asked.
“No,” Rodney said. “Nothing specific anyway. It’s just common sense. I know me. For a relationship with me to last this long, I’d either have to be pretending I’m something I’m not or you’re the stable one.”
Evan grinned pressing a kiss to Rodney’s lips. “Even us stable guys have our moments. Besides,” he looked at Rodney more seriously. “I think my calm exterior went to hell the moment I learned Kolya had been holding you prisoner. And I completely lost my calm interior when I found out you last your memory.”
Rodney leaned down next to Evan resting his head on the other man’s shoulder. “Didn’t you sleepwalk some other time recently?”
Evan looked at Rodney. “You remember?”
Rodney frowned. “Kinda. You had your gun and were waving it around. There were people trying to talk you down. I don’t know why though.”
“Some alien entity you and your team brought back,” Evan said.
Rodney rolled his eyes. “Figures. Well, I have to get a checkup with Keller.”
“I’ll go with you,” Evan offered.
“Then we can have lunch,” Rodney agreed. They shared a quick kiss before getting up for the day.

When Evan woke up in Rodney’s quarters two more mornings in a row, Rodney suggested Evan just move in with him.
“I’m not sure that’s a good idea,” Evan protested.
“Weren’t we going to do it anyway before all this happened?” Rodney asked.
“Yeah, but I don’t think this is a good time. You don’t have your memory back. We haven’t even had sex since this happened.”
“Maybe we should change that,” Rodney said.
“I was kind of hoping you’d have your memory back the next time we made love,” Evan said.
“I wish everyone would just leave me alone about my memory,” Rodney turned and walked out of Evan’s room.

Date: 2008-02-04 11:54 pm (UTC)This was a tough chapter. I wasn't sure where it was going. It felt like it was meandering a bit. Actually I was going to have Rodney do the sleepwalking at first and then I thought of the ep. Doppleganger and thought given the stress he's had this would be perfect for Evan.
Anyway, I thought that was a good spot to end it on. I have an idea for how the next chapter is going to begin.
