I'm finally up to date on The 4400. For awhile I thought I'd only ever be watching it on DVD. I didn't start watching it until after s2 was over. And by the time I finished the first two seasons on DVD, s3 had already started so I had to wait until it came out on DVD to watch it. Good thing the seasons are only thirteen episodes long. I finished four days before s4 premieres.
Kavan Smith was in most if not all the episodes of s3. Not that I don't like his character on The 4400, but Lorne is my favorite. Actually while he was in most of s3's 4400, I think his presence on SGA as Lorne is more significant. I don't mind that he's not in every ep. of SGA, in fact I prefer it that way, because when he is on SGA he often has a significant part in the episode. I like reocurring characters on SGA. Sometimes the main cast that we see every week in get or will get a little old. I found that to be the case for me on SG-1. I always looked forward to the episodes that had Bra'tac and or Jacob. As well as Maybourne.
I was listening to some of the commentary for the last ep. of s3 of 4400. Something the executive producer said amused me. S3 spoilers ahead. ( spoilers ) I'm quite happy to watch the show not having any idea what's coming next before hand beyond what the TV guide will say about an upcoming episode.
It's a show I enjoy watching. And I'm happy to let the writers tell their story without me giving an opinion as to what they should do. There are characters I like and some I'm a little indifferent to, but they don't spoil my enjoyment of the show. There are so many characters and different stories that there's not one person that gets more screen time or attention than others. It is truly an ensamble show.
