I was listening to the s2 commentaries for SGA and Peter DeLuise and Gary Jones have got to stop doing commentaries together. I don't even know why Gary Jones is doing these commentaries when he's on SG-1. I was listening to the Intruder commentary and the best thing DeLuise said was that someone wrote him telling him to stop the potty humor. DeLuise said he couldn't seem to do that though. There was just something in his mental make up that wouldn't allow him to stop. I think it's called Gary Jones. Because he do commentary without that humor when doing commentary with others, but put him with Gary Jones and blech, potty humor.

My favorite commentaries are with Martin Wood, Martin Gero and David Hewlet with Joe Flanigan sometimes added in.

AMEN. They have such pointless commentaries. I mean, I LOVE potty humor, and I think their commentaries are just dumb.

I think Peter DeLuise's commentaries have progressively gone down hill over the years starting with SG-1. I have s4 of sg-1 and he was my favorite of the ones doing commentaries, but somewhere things just went down hill.

The other commentaries unless it's Gero, Wood, Hewlet and Flanigan are rather dull. Too technical for my taste. TLG wasn't bad. Torri was the only thing helping that commentary. The other two participating dragged it down a bit. Same with Critical Mass. Rachel helped it, but the ones she was doing the commentary with made it dull.

There's one other with Deluise and Jones I haven't listened to and am not real interested either. And a couple I haven't listened to because they're DOP's and producers I think. I prefer it when there's at least one actor and the writer of the ep. with the director. Special fx person can be interesting, but I don't want too many episode commentaries with them.

I think David Hewlett having made A Dog's Breakfast has made him very interesting in commentaries. Joe Flanigan has various interests in the process of making shows from the writing to directing as well and is very interesting. They both have humor, but it's good humor. They're good at giving good and funny anecdotes from the making of the episodes.

Heh, that was a bit of a ramble there. :D

Martin Wood does the best commentaries. Always lots of cool relevant information. PDL used to do good comm's but they seem to have just gone down hill and it's the same-old, same-old now.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking about PDL.

Martin Wood is my favorite director for commentaries. Not only does he speak of the technical aspect, but he will touch on the story of the episodes as well. And the actors, how they act in a given scene.

The Rising was great with him and JF because they were talking about how JF was performing in a scene and it wasn't how MW invisioned it, but in the end he really liked how JF chose to do the scene.

I can't even remember the Rising comm. Infact, I can't even remember if I got through them all. :/
