There are many groups that get mentioned when talking under-representation or poor representation in films and television. Race, gender and the lgbtq. But there is one that never gets a mention in the mainstream; the disabled.

I haven't seen the movie yet so I can't profess to have a fully informed opinion beyond the reviews I have read online, but Me Before You does not look like the best representation of the disabled.

Maybe I'll go further into detail later on this movie on the issues I have with it, but I can't get my thoughts together and I think I should see the movie first.

I found the first two episodes of series 3 Ashes To Ashes and just finished the second episode. A very intriging start.

Doctor Who I think premieres on the 17th. I was sure I had seen somewhere it said it was the 14th but then later read it's the 17th. Oh well, I think the 17th is more likely anyway because it's a Saturday and usually BBC America airs the shows I like on Saturday nights. It's just as well, I have far too many shows on Wednesday nights as it is. Thank God some of them are on cable so the episodes repeat. Now if BBC America would just air Ashes to Ashes it would be great.

Tonight's the season finale of Human Target and the series finale of Ugly Betty.

Later is another ep. of In Plain Sight. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Alison Janney after the previews for this episode.

I'm renting the latest Star Trek movie. I saw it at the theater last year with my sister and enjoyed it. I listened to the commentary and now I'm going to watch it probably Friday night.

Other movies I've rented or watched recently have been The Time Traveler's Wife and Julie and Julia. I was going to rent Julie and Julia but found it was airing on Starz so I watched it.

The Time Traveler's Wife is an odd movie that I didn't really like much. I couldn't really get the point and didn't feel much for the characters.

Julie and Julia was amusing in places but it was kind of choppy in places and yeah it shifts between 1949 and 2002-3 but it felt like sometimes they put something in there at times that wasn't fully realized.

I watched the movie Miss Potter tonight. It's about Beatrix Potter who wrote books like The Tale of Peter Rabbit and Squirrel Nutkin. I loved it. When it was over I remembered having a book that had illustrations just like what was shown in the movie. It turned out I have one of her books, Squirrel Nutkin. It's a book I've had for over twenty years that was given to me by my great-aunt.

Earlier this evening I went to a house warming party. It was a cookout. I smell like smoke from the grill now.

I went and saw Wild Hogs yesterday. It was an amusing piece of fluff. I might have not felt like cringing a lot of the time if I hadn’t gone to see it with the group I had. They’re a rather conservative bunch.

Cut for length and spoilers for Wild Hogs.

I think I’ve been reading too much meta these last few days. And some people seem to think they’re so cool because they use big fancy words discussing a television show.
